Bullet Club IMPLODES! WWE UNHAPPY With SmackDown Live! | WrestleTalk News Feb. 2018

Hello and welcome to the WrestleTalk News,
I am Luke Owen and because I enjoyed it so
much last week, I’ll be replying to as many
comments as possible for the first 15-ish
minutes of this video going live. Ask whatever
you want – a few people oddly asked if I liked
waffles or pancakes last week – but don’t
ask if I know de way as I don’t get the
referece. Give some Alan Partridge quotes,
that I can get behind.
Headline: The Bullet Club Implodes!
It’s been a rocky year for the Bullet Club
with tensions riding higher than Rob Van Dam
on his weekend off. There has been a supposed
war of the leaders between Kenny Omega and
Cody, which flared up at New Year’s Dash
and turned into a beat down at New Beginning
in Sapporo. Omega was saved by his Golden
Lovers tag team partner Kota Ibushi, which
led many to speculate Bullet Club was heading
for a NWO Hollywood and NWO Wolfpac split
with Omega leading one team and Cody the other.
Ring of Honor even announced that Cody vs.
Omega will take place at Supercard of Honor
12 this coming April, the day before WWE’s
WrestleMania 34.
Things got even more heated in the group at
the first night of Honor Rising over the weekend,
where Cody, Marty Scurll and Hangman Page
defeated The Golden Lovers and Chase Owens.
After the match Omega and Cody continued their
brawl, and Cody cut a promo where he announced,
“Bullet Club is fine. And I’ll add one more
thing. Bullet Club is mine.” On the second
night, where The Golden Lovers took on Cody
and Scurll, Cody wore the word “LEADER”
on his gear and even kissed Kota Ibushi towards
the end of the match, which he later told
Kevin Kelly and Don Callis was all for the
“look on Kenny’s face”.
During the post-show press conference in response
to Cody’s mind-games, Kenny said that Cody
had embarrassed himself and went so far as
to call Cody a cast-off of a certain company.
“This sounds like an evil project of a WWE
reject. That’s what that sounds like.”
The question remains where The Young Bucks
fit in all of this. We had previously seen
that The Bucks welcomed the Golden Lovers
into their dressing room following New Beginning
on Being The Elite, but things aren’t quite
so hunky dory.
Headline: The Young Bucks Challenge The Golden
Lovers
At the conclusion of the second night of Honor
Rising, Omega cut a promo say that not only
was this the best weekend of his life but
The Golden Lovers are the best tag team in
the world. This of course brought out The
Young Bucks who disagreed, and announced they
were moving into the heavyweight division
and challenged them to a match. It was officially
announced by New Japan that the two teams
will square off at Strong Style Evolved on
March 25th – a card that will also see Hangman
Page challenge for Jay White’s IWGP United
States Championship and Jushin “Thunder”
Liger face off against Rey Mysterio, and is
rumoured to feature Chris Jericho vs. Tetsuya
Naito.
Strong Style Evolved made headlines earlier
this month when the show sold out it’s 5,000
seats in just twenty minutes – and that would
have been quicker had the ticket systems not
crashed due to demand. Matt Jackson channeled
his inner Brody tweeting, “We should’ve
ran a bigger building.”
Do you who doesn’t need bigger buildings?
Smackdown Live.
Headline: WWE Unhappy With Smackdown Live?
The Blue Brand hasn’t had the best 12 months
and has fallen under massive criticism as
of late from both journalists and, more importantly,
the fans. Images from last week’s show revealed
WWE were struggling to sell tickets, leaving
their arena nearly half empty. This news isn’t
exactly ground-breaking as images of half-sold
arenas were shared around social media almost
every week for most of 2017. And this is quite
clearly an issue the company wants to address,
with WWE announcing plans to drop the brand-exclusive
PPVs – which is reportedly due to poor ticket
sales on Smackdown Live events – and John
Cena being advertised for Fastlane, which
was made official on Raw last night when it
was announced that Cena was heading back to
Smackdown Live for the first time since last
August – presumably to help push struggling
sales.
According to Brad Shepard at Bodyslam.net
– who has a relatively good track record – even
WWE are aware that the show’s quality is
down at the moment. “A source in WWE told
me that basically everyone that works there
knows it’s not good.”
While a very vague statement from Shepard,
the Cena move to Smackdown Live is an interesting
one as Dave Meltzer and several other outlets
have been reporting for months now that Big
Match John’s Big Mania Match is against
The Undertaker. And if that is still the plan
– and Cena’s promo on Raw would certainly
suggest so – that would mean that Undertaker
will also be appearing on Smackdown Live heading
into their biggest show of the year – which
in theory would also help ticket sales and
increase TV ratings.

100 thoughts on “Bullet Club IMPLODES! WWE UNHAPPY With SmackDown Live! | WrestleTalk News Feb. 2018”

  1. …but despite less tv time …i still remain and have been for a while …a smackdown fella …i overuse the elipsus …that's the last time, ipromise (new frome Apple)…

  2. This is what Smackdown gets for allowing RAW to take almost all the big name talent!! What happened to the top 10 anyway??

  3. SmackDown booking of matches is trouble storylines like the riot squad we could do with out like the ziggler U.S title storyline and Fourways threeway ain't working women's division is to friendly that's why it sucks now, they need to scrap fastlane and have a brand exclusive ppv every few months like after WrestleMania plus they need to bring back Drowning Pool Rise Up theme tune for SmackDown

  4. Just give HHH total creative control and the fans will come back. A wrestler running a wrestling show…hmmm…theres a concept. Need proof? NXT…205 LIVE…. another concept? A wrestling show with actual wrestling. Smackdowns roster is stacked…and probably the best wrestler in the world right now is at the top of that list. No excuse for this crap. Finally… LOWER THE MOTHERFUCKING TICKET PRICES!!!

  5. Ways to save smackdown ziggler wins title at fastlane sets up 3 way dance show a promo of ziggler talking before the match have nakamura win the ziggler give the signal owns and zayn attack both aj and nakamura new heel group for smackdown since byan cant wrestle have the 3 of them win the gold sets up fueds for awhile until undisputed era comes in and fights thier group sets up drama with adam cole…Bay bay and owens writes it self the one element that ruins smackdown in the bulgon brothers thier ment for raw or njpw

  6. Smackdown Live sucks because all of their top stars were moved to Raw and what made Smackdown Live really take L's was when Jinder won the WWE Championship

  7. lol wonder why tickets sale been shit? because the story is fucking shit and audience even care about the shit happening in smackdown

  8. Smackdown falls short on story. Raw is just too dam long. The main roster shows are a freakin car wreck of TNA proportions. NXT is still their best show. I look forward to it every week and it may end up being the only wrestling show I watch as ROH and NJPW are equally frustrating as WWE.

  9. Amazing that they say they are unhappy. Yet we had that unnecessary superstar shake up. Smackdown was headed for greatness, it felt like the superstars had more freedom, and let's not forget about talking smack. They chopped SmackDown when they realized it was getting bigger than RAW and the wrestlers getting themselves over, instead of using heavily scripted promos. I hope they turn it around.

  10. You mean the show WWE seemingly cares little about isn't generating interest!? I actually blame people….for not doing this before!

  11. You have Roman Reigns facing Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemanias main event for the 3rd time with Roman now main eventing the show for the 4TH time in a row, while John Cena keeps getting booked in WWE championship matches and calling out the Undertaker at the same time. The man he already called a battered veteran at the end of his career……….

Were they expecting ticket sales to fucking skyrocket!?!??!

  12. It's weird because I just went to a Smackdown LIVE house show in Denver and it was fucking awesome. It was completely different in comparison to watching Smackdown LIVE on TV.

  13. Every week when I check the results of SD there is only 4-5 matches. People want to see wrestling not people on the mike for 40 minutes.

  14. If wwe know smackdown is not doing well, then why the hell they don't do about it!!😑I myself is a fan of 2016 smackdown than raw!!!they should have done things that was important for the company and they are still not doing it

  15. They dont have ONE SINGLE BIG NAME there!quite frankly, having aj styles as the champ is just like having hbk as the champion back in 1995, normal people just dont wanna see that

  16. Smackdown still the best show and Vince McMahon is mad because SmackDown keeps beating raw in the ratings not by much like they used to but they still keep beating them

  17. Rusev is more over than almost everyone on the roster so this week they address it by saying 'fuck that guy' and gave English instead

  18. I've been waiting 18-20 years for wrestling to get better!!!!! Thats why i don't watch it now, only if Alexa is on!!!! 😍😍 that's the only exception

  19. Its their fault in the first place..last year SD was outperforming their flagship Raw so vince decided to basically take every major SD star and put them in Raw

  20. Dammit Luke, this is important! Don't just say u don't know the reference, get to know it! Let me show you da wae, type UGANDAN KNUCKLES MEME in any search engine and revel in the results.

  21. Because Vince was mad Smackdown was great so he killed all the hype from it. Only focused on Sami and Kevin. Usos have made themselves great but that really is the only bright spot. And the Riott Squad has managed to kill the women's division

  22. WWE is only reason that SmackDown was poor they singed Ronda Auska and also Goldberg was also on Raw and last year wrestlmania main event was given to Raw even Randy Orton won the royal rumble the same happening this Year 😥😥😥😥

  23. They are both boring af but smackdown has been dreadful lately. Aj, bobby roode, and shinsuke needs to go to raw. Fuck smackdown.

  24. Smackdown makes aj look weak af and it's annoying. He is so much better then that. Even as champion it's pathetic the losses he is taking. Losing all credibility and is starting to finally look like a has been… how sad he was the only reason I even came back to watching wrestling. Oh well should of stayed in japan… he should honestly just go back.

  25. Get rid of that Daniel Bryan. Having him argue with Shane every week must be doing the fans heads in. And bring some decent wrestlers there. Smackdown has always been the Number 2 show and John Cena and Brock Lesnar could make things more interesting.

  26. I disagree, I believe Smackdown has better superstars than Raw. The problem is NOT the show. Its the places they go. I live in El Paso, TX and Smackdown live was here 2wk ago and pretty much sold out. WWE only likes to go to the same old places…New York, California and DC. The people there are like, well if we dont catch the show this time don't worry, they will be back in 2wks. My point is that when you go to places that they dont often come to twice a year like El Paso. Its a sell out show. Rethink the booking WWE.

  27. RAW and Smackdown both suck at this time. Even texting about them makes me wanna………..
    ZzzzzzzZzzzzz
Oh sorry….. makes me wanna sleep.

  28. just goes to show that the WWE sucks with building new stars or keeping talent that is over with the crowd, like Rusev is being kept back. Their Owens & Zayn vs McMahon feud to getting far too boring and just dragging on and on and on!!

Cena was always going to win his match against Styles… to help with "ticket sales", but not always going to be better show…

  29. Like i said in the last video on this topic. WWE is destroying SmackDown on purpose plain and simple. They don't want it doing better than RAW and it was. If any show gets cancelled or tanks they want it to be SmackDown not RAW. Plus Steph is focused on RAW, she's focused on WWE but RAW is her main focus there and she gets what she wants. Plus they won't let Shane shine shine on top of her. But WWE won't let their B show top their A show.Because RAW wouldn't be the A show now would it? WWE don't want it that way even though it should, plain and simple.

  30. WWE should drop the brand split along with the Universe title or drop the Universe title and have 1 title jump between both brands.

Just like when there was 1 Undisputed Champion and he be on both shows. It made it look interested. That 1 Champion can have 2 storylines plus if the first 1 flops there is always the 2nd 1 to back it up.

Also have all Championship or have the U.S. and IC title on each brand to be considered as #2. Have the Tag team and womens championship jump between shows.

There is to many recycle matches.

  31. To the WWE announcers, the stairs ARE NOT STEEL, they are Diamond Plate Aluminum, you dumb fucks! ALUMINUM!

  32. Let's face it the WWE sucks they are finally realizing that there programs are not the big thing in wrestling anymore.

  33. I think the Young Bucks will be real good if they can change their style up they still act like The Hardy Boys but there heels that's how they look when they got to WWE in 2006 and 7 nothing's really changed with the Young Bucks that's why WWE don't want them those boys can wrestle but they need to change their style and look

  34. This John Cena thing is so big right now I don't know if it's real or scripted but if it's not John is really trying his best to get the Wrestlemania and he's showing it on his face deep down with John Cena retires a lot of y'all going to miss him because he has a logo and something there a lot of wrestlers don't give us never give up we use that everyday In our struggle that's what makes me like him more and more I used to live in like John Cena but I like that man now never give up

  35. Taking the top HEEL to Raw to help the 3hr long, no Universal Champ bore fest is partially the blame. Not utilizing Ziggler, Corbin, Becky and Randy the right way is hurting as well. We need new fueds and fast.

  36. Wwe is unhappy with smackdown?Well wwe has gotten me unhappy with there shows as of late. I mean yeah smackdown is not as good as it once was but. That doesn't mean that raw is worth watching. Both shows have become the C or D shows. Don't even get me started with the third hour mark.

  37. Poor Direction. Jhinder Mahal was Champion. Nobody Cared! Now the Predictable Main Event of Styles vs Nakamura at Mania 34. I really don't like the Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan GM BS. Or the Same Zayn and Kevin Owens Shenanigans. It's Predictable and Boring. Plus we have to put up with Cena Twice Now.

  38. Thats what im saying. Im not interested in smackdown now. I just like aj and shinsuke. I like raw because of matt hardy, roman, asuka, bayley, alexa, finn balor ect.

  39. I'm sorry but atm I think the aj and sk…with him bein heel and the dnt speak English is hilarious…and I wasn't a fan of the iconics on nxt but I liked the way they helped cash in with title change
